Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Someone just rang our doorbell at 7:45pm...

and DS had just fallen asleep.  The dog went nuts.  Now DS is awake.  Shoot me now.

Vent over.

  • WTF, I would be pissed if someone rang my doorbell that late unless I was expecting them.  Hope LO goes back to sleep without too much fuss :oP

  • I got really really snappy with some guy walking around selling lawn care services when he rang the doorbell at almost 8:00 at night. We have a no-soliciting policy in the neighborhood, so he already had that against him, but when the dog started barking and the baby started crying, I was pretty pissed.
  • I'd have raged. Our doorbell broke ages ago and my husband failed at repairing it. I prefer it now even though we have wires hanging out of the wall. Classy.

LOL.  Ours is pretty janky too.

  • Lurking...this happened to us twice in one week, both during the day while LO was napping.  She is a very light sleeper.  I was so mad!  I'm sorry, I know how you feel.

  • This happened to me a couple times and I was so p!ssed. I eventually put a piece of paper on the door that says "DO NOT ring the doorbell!". It may not look the greatest, but I don't care. If it keeps my kids from waking up, I don't care what it looks like!

I hope you can get LO back to sleep soon.

  • That's why we disconnected ours.  People can knock if they need us.

  • Thanks guys!

    DS is back to sleep!

It was my SIL.  She's 23 and doesn't understand what bedtime is like lol.  She wanted to measure our old fridge to see if it would fit in her new house.

HA I have the same note on my doorbell. It's been there for, oh, about 8 months now lol

Us too. For the first two months we had a sign that said "Please do not ring bell, newborn and mama sleeping" worked great! Now it's diconnected bc DH's dad isn't so bright, or literate apparently!

  • This happens way too much here, too, and it drives me BSC. Not really sure in what world it's ok to ring someone's doorbell that late at night soliciting.
