I've had a rough week and have been in L&D 3 times.....
Monday - office visit, found out I was dialating, set to L&D for monitroing, released hours later on restricted activty.
Thursday - emergency office visit due to tons of pressure and contractions, monitored again, released because nothing progressed.
Thursday night - trip to the ER due to blinding pain in my back after peeing...i passed out and was vomiting from the pain. Treated and tested for potential kidney stones but everything came back negative. While I was being treated I began contracting once again. Was given the steroid shot in case baby came early and kept overnght for monitoring.
Friday - sent for high level ultrasound to check kindeys/cervix/baby condition. Everything looks perfect (phew) but I continued to contract all day. Kept all day for monitoring, released on full bedrest and told to come back if I progress.
Got home @ 5pm last night and have been stable since. Woo hoo! The morale of my long story here is to get as prepared as you can now. I am seeing a lot of posts about when to start washing landry, setting up the nursery, installing the car seat. I vote NOW - you do not want to be worrying about this stuff in case of emergency.
Re: Preterm labor and steroid shots
Wow, that sounds scary. I'm glad everything is ok with your LO. Sorry about the bedrest and hoping for no progression until it is time.
I'm hoping to get a lot done tomorrow after my shower, but I still have quite a bit. LO does have a bassinet so he will have somewhere to sleep when he comes home (hopefully not for another 10-11 weeks)
Oh wow. Even though I have not been high risk or had any complications this whole pregnancy, I'm thankful everyday that I remain pregnant. I definitely don't take her continued baking for granted.
Thank you for sharing and giving us another perspective. After all, we have had 4 June babies come already. You just never know what will happen.
