Babies: 6 - 9 Months

When do babies stop spitting up?

My 7mo still spits up so much!

Re: When do babies stop spitting up?

  • LOL I was going to post this today! Us too. He does have a dairy allergy we're correcting, I'm sure it's part of it in our case! Do you ff or bf? I wonder if it makes a difference. My nephew was ebf and he spit up like crazy too!

  • I don't think there is a hard and fast rule.  DS has reflux and has been a horrible spitter but I've noticed lately that it's getting much better.  I'm only using 2-3 burp rags a day instead of 5-6.  It may have something to do with starting solids or it could just be that he's outgrowing it.  I've got friends whose DD didn't stop until she was almost 9 months.

  • So funny.  Glad I'm not the only one.  I EBF with some solids.  It's not reflux--the pediatrician checked that yesterday.

If your pedi says that it's not reflux that is great!  Your LO may just be a "happy spitter" and you just have more of a laundry issue - ha ha.
