Good morning ladies!!!
Just wondering how much cereal you give your babies at each sitting and how much fruits & veg.
Right now i'm only giving them 2tbsp of cereal and 1/2 tub of 1st gerber organic fruits for breakfast and a tub each of 1st gerber veggies each for dinner. DD has been constipated and i didn't want to give them too much cereal but from what i've seen most people are giving cereal 2x's a day.
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks,
Re: how cereal/fruit/veg at each meal at 6 mos?
The cereal doesn't seem to make my DS constipated, but he's just picky. Sometimes he'll eat it and want more, and sometimes he pushes the spoon away.
So, on the days that he's good, I give him two bowls of rice and oatmeal cereal mixed (I use either Plum Organics, or Happybellies, whichever is available)
I give him about 9 tbsp mixed with chamomile tea (he likes it a lot) and he eats it pretty thick. We're just starting fruits, so I don't know how that will be incorporated, but we're just starting apples, so we'll see how that goes, since my DS is really sensitive, allergenically speaking.
If your Lo is getting constipated, do not give her cereal. DD has always been constipated, called pedi and they said no cereal, rice, apples or bananas. They had her put on a prune diet (bleh!)
You can also try giving a little water at those feedings as well.

PS. Your twins are so stinkin cute! ( I peaked at your blog)

I had issues with constipation also. My pedi told me to give juice or use prunes every couple of days. She thought he might be a bit dehydrated (we live in AZ). That seems to help things through.
I still BF, but feed LO 2-3x/day. He usually eats 1 tbs cereal, 1 tbs fruit, and 1 tbs veggie at each meal.
