Baby Names

middle name - non negotiable

So years and years ago DH and I agreed that if we had a girl we would give her his step-mom's name as a middle name.  Pamela - lots of syllables I know..

I keep coming up with long first names though like Jocelyn or Melodie. Do you think that's a mouthful? our last name is only 2 syllables.

Wondering if we need to keep the fist name shorter like Sarah or Kristin... opinions?

Re: middle name - non negotiable

  • I dont think Jocelyn Pamela is too much of a mouthfull. It flows very well.

  • Just depends on flow! In fact, if you went even longer (4 syllables) it would likely flow quite well (Elizabeth Pamela). I think the key is to stay away from an "a" ending for the first name.

    Edited: mispelling!

  • remember that very few people are going to call her by her first and middle name together unless that's how you want to refer to her.

I agree.  I would try to stay away from an -a ending first name if you're going with Pamela for the mn.
