So my friend Bozena, who is Polish, gave DD a boy baby doll. DD says she wants to name the doll "Bozena." I can live with this, but would prefer a Polish boy's name that retains the same feel as Bozena. Anyone?
I could have posted this on the toddlers' board, but really, the naming experts are all over here.
Re: Need help with a Polish name
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

** After 2 1/2 years of Unexplained IF, 2 failed medicated cycles, and 4 failed IUI's - our baby girl came to us through the miracle of Mini IVF! **
Wait? Are you talking about naming the doll? Or another child?
If it is the doll, I think you should let DD name the doll whatever she wants.
Yeah, this. I say let the kid name the doll whatever she wants.
Do you want it to sound the same? Bogdan and Bolek sound similar. Bogdan (pronounced BAWG-dahn) actually has the same root as Bozena. Bozena and Bogdan are both derived from "Bog" which means God.
Interesting! I had no idea. I know a guy named Bogdan, but I think he is Romanian. I didn't know the meaning of his name or that it was related to Bozena.
