Post your LO's eating schedule

I'm trying to figure out if I should be keeping solid meals separate from bottles or combine them.  What is your LO's eating schedule?
TIA!

  • Our Pedi said not to combine them until like 9months or so.
This way he's not too full of one, and skip the other.  ALways important to remember that BOTTLES are more important than solids right now anyway.

    DS Schedule:

    Wake up:  7 oz bottle
    8:30am: Breakfast (yogurt, or cereal)
    11:30am: 7oz bottle
    3:30pm: 7oz bottle
5:30pm: Dinner (fruit, veggies, meat, etc)
    7pm: 7oz bottle

    He sleeps from 7:30pm-7:30am normally.
If he wakes up/sleeps in, his morning routine varies a bit, but its still always the same total amount in the day, if that makes sense.  He only gets 2 solid  meals a day, but I will be adding a 3rd in around 8 months.

    Hope this helps!

  • 7:30 -- Nurse

    9:00 -- Breakfast (fruit & cheerios, usually)

    10:00 -- Nurse

12:00 -- Nurse, then he gets some solids if he's acting hungry while DD eats lunch

    3:00 -- Nurse

    5:00 -- Nurse

    6:30 -- Dinner (veggie & fruit)

    7:30 -- Nurse

I have no idea how much he gets when he nurses, but this has been our schedule for the past couple of months (since we introduced solids).  I don't plan to wean any nursing sessions until he's closer to 12 months.

This almost exactly, except last bottle at 7:30. Wow. She sleeps 8 - 7 with a dreamfeed around 2:00. Also, sometimes she will have a "snack" after the 11:30 bottle (around 1:30) of avocado/fruit/graham cracker.

  • We do bottles, with solids directly after, for several reasons. One, so they get their fill of milk first and two - so we have meals and not snacks! Right now they eat every four hours, at breakfast they get fruit and cereal. At lunch they get two types of veggies. No dinner yet, we will probably start that next week.

  • During the week - cause DH can't get it together in the a.m. for solid feeds:

    6:00 a.m. bottle - 5 to 6 oz - FF

    9:00 a.m. bottle - 5 to 6 oz

    11:00 a.m. - solids - 2 to 3 oz fruit plus 3 tablespoons oatmeal

    1:00 p.m. bottle 5 to 6 oz

    4:00 p.m. bottle 5 to 6 oz

    6:00 p.m. - solids - 2 to 3 oz veggies plus 3 tablespoons brown rice cereal

And then I typically try one more bottle for bed 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. - she sometimes only takes 3 to 4 oz - but every so often she will take more.

On the weekends, I do solids 2 hours after the first bottle - I am trying to implement this type of spacing of solids so we can eventually add the third solid feeding.

  • Charlotte's typical day looks like this,

    7:30 am - nurse

8:30 am - solids: oatmeal (3 tbsp) and fruit (3 tbsp)

    11:00 am - nurse

    12:00 pm - solids: protein/iron (2 tbsp) and veggies (2 tbsp)

    3:00 pm - nurse

5:00 pm - solids: infant cereal/iron rich food (2 tbsp), veggies (2tbsp) and fruit (2 tbsp)

    7:00 pm - nurse

I have no idea how much milk she takes in.  Her doctor said it was important to nurse before solids as they are still getting the majority of nutrients that way and the solids are just practice at this point.  She also gets a little water in a sippy cup after solids to wash it down.  Since she started sleeping through the night (7:30 pm to 7:00 am) I no longer nurse her until she wakes up.

  • DD is not a big eater so I've tried putting solids in between bottles and I've tried giving them with bottles, for us, she actually takes more oz of formula a day if I give solids at the same time as her bottle.  I give her half the bottle first, then her serving of solids, then the other half the bottle.

7am-6oz bottle plus an orange veggie

    11am-8oz bottle

3pm-6oz bottle plus a green veggie

    7pm-8oz bottle
