Today I am 11 weeks pregnant. It's hard to believe, but in a couple weeks I will be in the 2nd trimester! Like many of you, nausea and food aversions has totally messed up my previously healthy diet! I'm eating things I haven't eaten in a decade! Also, I suspect that I may not be eating enough (at least compared to the extra 300 calories I need to eat in a couple weeks).
When I was trying to trim up a bit, I found it very helpful to track my meals and/or calories. I discovered then I wasn't eating enough, and I learned a lot about the nutritional value of foods. I was thinking that maybe we could do a daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner posting to help encourage us to eat healthy (for me, the idea of posting my meals will totally motivate me to eat well). Plus, we can get meal ideas from each other.
Anyone interested?
Here's today's lunch for me:
Bowl of soup from a local co-op grocery with rice, ground beef, and tomatoes (all organic!)
Big handful of carrots with a "greek dip" (all organic!)
24 oz of lime sparkling water
Re: Meal Tracking
This is a good idea! I think it will show me how I should be eating and also give me ideas!
Today's lunch:
1/2 roasted turkey sandwich from Panera
Broccoli and cheddar soup with baguette
A brownie
And of course water. I cannot get enough of it!
What a great idea! I did the same thing when I was trying to loose weight. I'm having such a difficult time eating anything-let alone eating healthy! I'm feeling really guilty because of it too. All I ate for lunch today was a croissant and some milk! I suck!
Ugh, I don't think I want to admit what I'm eating. A couple weeks ago (before m/s set in) I was doing such a great job of eating real food. Now, I'm eating crap. Raw veggies & fruit mostly gross me out.
I sort of had 3 breakfasts this morning: 1/2 bottle vanilla Ensure, small bowl of Kashi cereal with milk and then at work I had a sesame bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese.
I had Smartfood cheese popcorn for a morning snack
Lunch was ramen + about 3/4c cottage cheese and two peppermint patties.
We'll have either spaghetti & meatballs or leftover Chinese food for dinner. I'm on my own with DS tonight (& exhausted) so it has to be something simple.
I couldn't handle my morning cup of decaf tea this morning, so I've just been drinking water all day (though I'm sure not enough).
I'll play! But I must admit, I eat about the same thing every day:
Breakfast: Egg on a whole wheat english muffin with a slice of 2% cheese.
Mid-Morning Snack: Fresh Fruit (strawberries, pineapple and grapes)
Lunch: My pasta salad creation (whole wheat pasta, tons of veggies, shrimp and a vinegar based "sauce") and a little can of low sodium V8.
Afternoon Snack: Two babybel light cheese nuggets.
Dinner: Tonight I had a veggie burger, baked chips and a pickle.
