Link for baby skin products?

I'm not sure if it was on this board or one of the Trimester boards...but there was a link posted at one time that disclosed all of the different brands of baby skin care products (wash, shampoo, lotion, oil, powder, etc) and the level of chemicals in them.  Or maybe it just ranked them in a "safest" to "Not as safe" order.  I forget.

Does anyone know the website?  TIA!

It's great! Scary (but not totally surprising!) the level of toxicity in J&J products.

  • back when I was in Esthetics school we tested Ph on lots of different products and Johnson & Johnson was highly alkaline. It totally strips the skin. If I remember correctly it was close to the Ph of toothpaste...
  • Yes!!  That's it!!  Thank you ladies for posting!!!  It's so crazy!

  • I think it's so funny that this info is out there for the world to see, and yet J&J seems to have a tight hold on the market of baby shampoo, etc.

The "no tears" formulas have numbing agents, right?  Scary!

  • I'm appalled by their following as well!  I really started to question their products a few years back when a stylist recommended I use their baby shampoo to strip a bad dye job out of my hair. Apparently it's one of the toughest shampoos out there? So not what I would've expected...

  • I am horrified to poke around on that site! I thought I was making a good decision in skipping J&J and choosing Burt's Bee's instead. There is no freaking way I am using it now though. Thanks for posting.

I'm going to hit up planet organic this weekend and see if I can find one of the 0% lines.

  • It looks like Burt's Bees Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash - Fragrance Free is safe; but their lotions are pretty high on the chart.  :-/

My mom and MIL were swearing by Baby Magic (and when I smell it; I remember the scent from when my sister was little)...but HOLY COW!  It's ranks as some of the highest in every category the brand is in.  Yikes!  Maybe Baby Magic was the way to go 20/30 years ago...but I'll stick to California Baby thank you very much, lol!

  • We're at least starting out with all California Baby too. Hopefully we can afford to keep using the good stuff after the ones I got at my shower run out!
