Anyone try CIO for naps?

I am trying to follow HSHHC and he says to let them cry for a hour for naps, but lil isn't going for it. She will cry the whole hour, or cry 45-55 minutes and sleep for 15-20. Is there anything I can do to get my daughter to nap without my help?

Re: Anyone try CIO for naps?

  • I tried CIO with DS and he wold scream for what seemed like forever!! So I asked on my facebook and my aunt told me about the book she read to help her sons. www.sleeplady.com It helps a lot! gives you the motivation to really work on naps and great advice. DS is napping right now and all I had to do was a little routine similar to bedtime, and stay in his room until he is asleep (slowly moving yourself outta the room over a couple of days until he gets to the point where I can put him down and leave the room) and no crying at all! • We did a modified Ferber for naps. They were still napping swaddled in their swings and we wanted all their sleep to be done in their room in their cribs. Ferber says to do the progressive wait approach but if they are still crying at the end of 30 minutes, end the nap. It took us 2 days of pretty crappy daytime sleep but after the 2 days my guys both go down in their cribs for 2 hours naps without issue.
