So the past few days I have noticed that my shoes are fitting much tighter. Then, I realized my feet no longer have a bone structure. I'm pretty sure cankles are next!! Good thing it's warm out now because I'll be sporting flip flops the rest of this pregnancy!! I'm starting to swell up!
Re: Cankles, here I come!
I was just about to post something in regards to this......
My ankles/feet have been swelling for a little over a week now and today I started giving my coworkers another comment to make to me or another reason to talk about me. I stopped wearing knee high boots because it is getting so hot out and I wore sandals to work. I am wearing pants but when I am sitting down you can see my feet. I have had one comment so far, but I'm sure there are more to come. I've already decided I will not be wearing capris to work anytime for the next 2 months.
Flip flops are the only thing comfortable for me right now! Even my TOM's are too tight now. I'm gonna have to get a larger pair of shoes or something because flip flops are fine when I'm sitting at work all day, but I can't wear them 24/7 on the weekends when I'm doing a lot of walking around.
ditto!
I know what you mean im trying to find an alternative because my feet start hurting after a while in flip flops
I feel like I have to share because I had this problem a few weeks ago and have found some things that really help. Around 28 weeks I'd come home at the end of the day and my feet and ankles would be at least twice their normal size. My calves also felt heavy, none of my shoes fit and it hurt to walk. I googled what I could do to relieve the swelling, and started doing the following:
1. taking a long walk every day (about a mile) and trying to get up from my desk to take short walks several times a day - this gets your circulation going
2. keeping my feet elevated while I work at my desk (I just stuck a file box under my desk and prop my feet up on it while working)
3. drinking a lot of water and try to avoid sodium (sometimes I'm not so good about this one)
Seriously this has reduced the swelling 99%, I can hardly believe it. My feet look totally normal again.
Of course this works works well for someone at a desk job, but would be harder to follow for someone who has to be on their feet a lot during the day.
