Maggie and maybe May are the only ones that even sound remotely close to the original name.  I know 3 Margarets and one goes by Meg, one by Maggie, and one by Marge.

Ok, I revote!  Meg!!  It won't allow me to vote since I already have... but that one has my vote.  I also like Maggie if you decide against Meg!

I picked Molly but I also love the nickname Greta which wasn't listed. Meg is my name and I've never really been a fan... to me it just never sounded pretty or feminine.

My BFF is Margaret (Margaret Ann).  She generally doesn't go by a nickname outside of her immediate family--which is Missy.  She is named for her mother, Margaret Elizabeth.

In high school, I used to call her Mags.
