Cloth Diapering

What do you think is more absorbent - hemp or bamboo?

I always thought hemp was more absorbent... but my new little baby is a super soaker and the hemp doublers I've been using just aren't helping much!

I put an itty bitty bsrb on him yesterday and WOW!  He took a long nap and so it was around 3 hrs between changes - the diaper was not even close to soaked!  I was so impressed!

Makes me wish I had a whole stash of BSRB!

Does anyone make bamboo doublers/inserts?

  • Blueberry makes some bamboo inserts.

I think hemp is WAY better, though...

I was just about to post this exact same thing. lol

  • are you sure the hemp is adequately prepped & not having too much detergent residue on it?  If you know someone who sews, doublers are so easy to make, and don't have to be perfect since they aren't up next to the skin.

  • I usually take the bamboo inserts out of my kawaii diapers and use them at night. But I am still not sure which I like more. I only have one hemp prefold that I use every now and then and to me they seem to work the same.
