Quick pains...

I've been getting slight, quick, shooting pains right along where my pubic hairline begins (between my hips). Am I correct to assume that this is the beginning of my uterus preparing to rise? 

I've also noticed that it's a little tender to touch in the same area (though this may very well be because I am constantly touching that area trying to feel my uterus!).

I just read in my week by week book that you can feel your uterus expanding.  It starts as the size of a tightly closed small fist and by 6 weeks is already the size of a grapefruit.  Although the pain they described was cramping or contracting.  So given the location of the pain I would guess that it is your uterus rising or growing (although I dont know)
