For the past month I've had slight back pain mostly on my upper right hand side. I couldn't tell if it was muscle pain as I drive 2 hrs a day and it usually worse when I get out of the car. I went to see my uriologist because I've had kidney issues in the past ( frequent uti's and a bad kidney infection like 6 years ago. The doc said she thinks it's just muscle pain but could be some stones but said there usually would be blood present in the urine. Since I saw her, it's been on and off pain. It was really bad today in that it was constant dull pain all day ( this time on my upper left side). It got way worse on my drive home from work and is still bothering me, but not as bad. It is better when I'm standing up. Should I call the doc? I don't think there is anything they can do anyway if it is kidney stones.
Re: Back pain; muscle pain or kidney stones?
It doesn't sound like a kidney stone to me... Kidney stones normally cause a really sharp pain either in your lower stomach or back/side.
I'm thinking just muscle pain since it's worse while you are sitting in the car. But please call the Dr if you are concerned! Did your Dr check you for a UTI since you are prone to them?
I hope you feel better. And I hope it's not kidney stones!
