I've posted here a few times, but am mostly a lurker, so hope you don't mind my popping in with a question. A little background...sorry it's so long.
I am 34w2d with boy/girl twins. I've had a pretty easy pregnancy so far and babies are doing awesome (they were both 4lbs3oz at my 32 week growth scan). I work from home, so it's really easy for me to work with my legs up and take rests when I need to (my boss is awesome).
My first twice-weekly NST was yesterday. All went well, but lo and behold I'm apparently having a lot of contractions (as in 10 or so at 40-60 seconds each within an hour). I'm not feeling them at all, and the babies aren't bothered by them either, according to monitoring. There was a brief discussion of sending me over to the hospital to try and stop the contractions, but the doctor (not my OB, but she is part of the same practice I go to) decided it wasn't necessary until I start to actively feel 6 or more an hour so they sent me home with instructions to see what happens.
So here's my WWYD -- I was planning to work up until my C-section (May 6), but now with these contractions, I'm not sure if maybe I should make this my last week. If I do end up going to May 6, I don't want to waste 3 weeks of leave just waiting, but I also don't want to over stress and possibly cause more contractions that could send me into labor (I also don't want to take advantage of my boss' generosity of taking it easy and not really putting in full effort).
Any advice/experience? My next NST is Thursday, so I'll know more then (if not before), but has anyone here had a similar experience of lots of contractions but not labor?
Re: Mostly a lurker w/ a WWYD? (long - sorry)
I worked from home the last 4 weeks. I worked from home 3 days a week and went into the office for 2 days. The last week I worked from home completely. Not having to shower, get ready and drive made a huge difference. I could also lie down whenever I started having contractions.
Has you OB made any recommendations?

Are the contractions affecting your cervix? If your cervix isn't changing and you're not feeling them, I wouldn't necessarily worry.
Obviously if you can take the time off and it's no big deal, I'd do it, but I think frequent BH can be kind of normal (for me it was, anyway. As long as it didn't change my cervix and I had negative FFNs, they weren't at all worried. My water broke at 37w3d)
I also work from home and am working right up until the day before my C next week. I agree with PP's since you dont have to get ready or exert yourself..IMO I would work as close up to your scheduled C as you can. If you can take more breaks and lay down during the day make sure to do that, but as long as you aren't too uncomfortable and aren't bothered by them, I would think its fine.. but what do I know LOL!
My reasons for working right up until my C is so I can take more time off after instead of having to take it before, I've had very few BH, unless I'm getting more that I'm not feeling, but as long as I feel ok to work I'll continue, one more week!
GL!
Thank you all for the great advice. I'll continue to work until delivery as long as there's no changes/impact/risk to babies. Very true, if I'm not really feeling anything and can take breaks whenever I need to, there's really no point in wasting my FMLA before the babies arrive.
Now, I just have to stop over-analyzing every little twinge to determine if it's really a contraction or not - lol. My logical self tells me that if it's a real one, I'll defintely know.
