2nd Trimester

XP: WWYD moms with 2+

Hey girls! I posted this on the 12-24mon board too but thought I'd see if anyone here could help too.

I have a bit of a dilemma and I find myself putting it off b/c I'm still pregnant and feel that i have time to sort it out but at the same time I like to plan and I would LOVE to start planning a nursery for DS#2 who's on his way.  Problem is I don't really have a room for him.  We have a 4 bedroom house with 3 rooms upstairs and 1 room down...As of now the 3 rooms upstairs are: master, DS#1's room and an office.  Well we moved into an old model home so most of the rooms were decorated and our "office" is decorated with the cutest painted on border of flowers in yellow, green and pink....basically PERFECT for a little girls room.  My dilemma is I know we want to have another LO (preferably a girl) and I REALLY REALLY don't want to paint over this room!!! But for now we have our 2nd DS coming and I don't know where to put him!?!? Of course for the first couple months he will be in my room but after that should I just have the boys share and hope the 3rd LO will be a girl?

any advice would be wonderful and if you have 2u2(they will be 22 months apart) or 2+ kids and have kids  that share if you could let me know how that is going i would appreciate to hear about that too! TIA!!

  • How about cover the walls with fabric and then you can take the fabric down later IF you have a daughter?  You can use liquid starch to attach the fabric - like temporary wallpaper.  It won't hurt the walls or the finish.  Just make sure you choose fabric that will cover the design.

Here's some info on how to do it:

  • I would plan for DS #2.  Is there any way to make the room a little more boy friendly? I can see your dilemma but think you should be planning for #2 vs #3 who hasn't even been conceived yet.

I know you don't want to lose the paint job, but you can always redecorate later for a girl.  Doesn't really make sense to save something for someone who isn't here.

This sounds amazing and I will definitely be researching this out!! Thanks

Bell- you are right...that's what makes me go back and forth on the whole thing b/c I should be planning on baby#2...but the room is just so nice and I'm not very artistic/decoratng savvy lol

All of this. You may or may not want to have #3 when you get there, you may or may not be able to get pregnant again, you may or may not have a girl, you could end up moving for whatever reason....plan for the sure thing, not what could be.

Ditto again.... I would turn the room into DS#2 room and if you happen to have a girl later you decorate in a new way.
