Did your babies sleep just get completely unpredictable and, to be frank, sh!tty while they were learning how to crawl?
Charlie's rocking on all fours and doing an army crawl type thing. We bedshare, and he was up almost every hour from 4am on for about 15-20 min at a time, getting up on all fours, rolling etc.
I want to know if this is a milestone thing or if it's a sh!tty sleeper thing.
Re: For those with babies that crawl or are figuring it out...
Yep.
Isabelle has always been a great sleeper (STTN @ 6 weeks) but the last 2 weeks have me and S looking at each other going "WTF?" She wants to go to bed later and wants to wake up earlier.
Yes!! I chalk it up to a bit of teething and learning to crawl.
When he wakes up overnight he's in his crib on all fours, just rockin' and scootin'. I am hoping this phase passes quick.
Ugh... thanks ladies. I'm sorry a few of you are also going through this. But at least it gives me hope that maybe it'll improve when he figures it all out??
Yeah, I'm an eternal optimist.
Thanks Miss Nikki and JKat - I hope you don't encounter this very soon. It's brutal!
Yup! Logan wasn't as bad. As in, once he was asleep, he was asleep. But, getting him to sleep for his naps has been a b!tch. The second I lay him down, he immediately rolls over and gets up on all 4's...
He's been crawling for about 3 weeks now, so anytime it can stop.
Oh no no, so does Charlie! But his already sh!tty sleep has just gotten sh!ttier! (I using the word sh!t a lot today. I'm tired.)
Thanks though
Now all of these stories about people's babies doing it for weeks is scaring me.
DS has been doing the rocking / army crawl thing for a couple of weeks now but just in the last week it seems like his sleep isn't as good.
I'm wondering if maybe it's because he spends all day trying to crawl and by the end of the day he's exhausted and overtired so he sleeps like crap. I mean - he goes non-stop all day it seems except for naps and eating.
Zoey is constantly "sleep crawling" since she learned to crawl. We actually transitioned her to the crib because of it. She also does it in the early morning hours. My friend said her now 3 year old did this also but that it was a phase he eventually grew out of. I'm hoping for both of our sakes it's just a phase and they grow out of it soon!
This morning I went in to get J and he was completely turned around, on his belly, head stuffed in the bottom left corner of the crib.
I looked over the railing and said "what are you doing?"
He rolled half way over, looked at me, and went into a fit of laughter.
I think it is a milestone thing. He is discovering all of the new things he can do and wants to give them a try.
