Motion sickness?

My DS is 7.5 months and since the day we brought him home from the hospital he has cried in the car.  Absolutely nothing helps that we have tried.  He is now in a convertible car seat and the last two weeks have been better now that the weather is a nice temp and no jacket is needed.  Bt he still fusses the whole time.  And to make the situation worse he does it in the stroller.  But worse than he does in the car now.  Crying in the car is awful because there is nothing I can do but cry along with him, but no one can hear him if he is crying.  But now I am on display as I push the stoller down the street and everyone can hear him screaming.  He does ok in malls for a little bit. Does anyone else have this problem?  Could it be motion sickness?  I don't think it's because he can't see me because in desperation last night I tried pushing the stroller backwards and that didn't help at all.  Please help, I don't know what to do.
