2nd time moms...did your baby drop before labor?

Since yesterday I have had a very uncomfortable pressure in my pelvis... feel like the baby is pushing on both of my hip bones... but my doctor told me babies usually don't "drop" until you are in active labor with the second baby.  I don't know what it feels like because DD never did drop.  I have my dr. appointment tomorrow, but was just curious if this happened to anyone else.  Not sure if that's even what is happening, just a feeling i have never felt before, and i still can't breath... so not sure if he actually did drop....

She dropped two weeks ago and i'm still pregnant!

I dropped yesterday and nothing... I had like 10 contractions yesterday, but def nothing "active" that's for sure.

DS dropped and I carried him around between my legs for at least 2 weeks!  I've actually never heard of what your Dr. said.  I thought they all dropped no matter what and doesn't necessarily mean you're going into active labor.  As for what it feels like, it is a lot of pressure and extra weight down there.  This is what causes the waddle, your legs are further apart because the baby is between them.

There is a difference between baby dropping and the head engaging in the pelvis according to my MW.  She said with most second pregnancies you will carry lower or "drop" but the head does not engage until active labor.  Don't know if this helps.

Thanks... maybe I was using the wrong wording...   I guess I am just asking what the intense pelvic pressure is...  I am not having any more contractions than I have had for the past few weeks so i don't think I am in labor... was just confused because of what my doctor told me at the last appointment...

DD2 dropped at 32 weeks.

My DD never dropped until I was in active labor.

DS dropped weeks before I went into labor. I kept worrying he was going to come out with a pointy head because he had been down there so long. But everything was fine- hes head is perfect But it was an obvious difference for me, I felt pressure in my hips more than I had before he had dropped.
