November 2011 Moms

"So, when do you stop worrying?"

That's what MH asked the IVF doctor and u/s tech when we were at 6wks.

The IVF dr and I both replied in unison, "when they turn 18".

HAHAHA  So true though!  We'll all be worried somewhat throughout our pregnancy, but really the worrying doesn't stop there.  So try and take it all in stride and just enjoy the day you've been given, ladies!

    True, but so hard.

I worried for my first u/s. We saw a heartbeat and I thought I would feel better...I did, for about a day.

Then, another u/s. HB stronger, baby grew.

I thought I would relax once I got pregnant! I try not to think past two weeks out, it's what helps keep me sane.

  • So true!!!  I thought I'd stop worrying when I saw the heartbeat.  But now I feel even more worried b/c there's something there and I'm getting more attached to the baby.  And I don't think you even ever stop worrying... as my mom says - little kids, little problems, big kids, big problems.

  • I'm pretty sure we will never stop worrying as moms...My sister and I are grown with our own kids and our mom still gets worried if she doesn't hear from us for long periods of time or driving late. It makes me feel special though, so my kids just better get used to it because I'll be doing the same thing!! :)

  • As a parent there is always something to worry about!  I try to just take one day at a time:)

  • My son is 5 and I still wake up with in a panic that something could happen to him. I doubt that when he is 18 my panic will have subsided. When you love something this much it is impossible not to worry. Smile

  • I'm guessing I'll still be worrying long after they turn 18.  Will they go to college, will they graduate college, will they get a good job, will they be happy in life?  So many things to worry about!

  • You stop worrying about your pregnancy when you hold your newborn in your arms.

Then you have a MILLION other worries as parents.

Your Dr. was completely right. At night, anytime my FI or I get up for any reason, we check on our daughter to make sure she is still breathing =)

I laughed the other day because she was sleeping in our room, and we were coming in to go to bed. I came in first and placed my hand on her back to make sure she was breathing (she sleeps on her stomach now) and checked her face to make sure she wasn't too cold/hot and then I got into bed. FI came in about 2 minutes later and did the same thing.

You never stop worrying about your babies =)
