Is this a braxton hicks contraction?

My upper belly keeps getting very tight.  There's no pain or discomfort -- just tightness.  Baby's also very active tonight!  I never had (re: never noticed) braxton hicks contractions with my first -- is this what they feel like?

Sounds like them to me.  I had them a lot with my first starting at about 20 wks.  My whole belly would get really hard to the touch but it was essentially painless, uncomfortable sometimes yes, but pain no.  Sometimes I would get them randomly and other times if I had been doing a lot of physical activity or if the baby was really active.

I would say yes. I read that they can start as early as 6 weeks.. I've been having them for a couple weeks here and there. Asked the Dr. today and she said its fine as long as they dont hurt and arent super close and occuring right after one another alot.

I have been having the same thing, except it's really low on my belly.  I was assuming they were BH.  It's funny, I never had them with my first pregnancy either.  I had quite a few yesterday so I drank a ton of water and they went away.  I have not been great about getting all my water in, now I am getting little physical reminders!
