9 oz bottles

What a waste! DD is EBF and has a bottle every once in a while, but she never has more than 5 oz (usually more like 3 or 4 oz!). I have a ton of these 9 oz bottles from our registry. I'm guessing only formula-fed babies need babas this big?? I thought maybe we'd grow into them, but I can't imagine it!

I don't think Lucas will ever take 9 oz, he barely finishes 8 if I offer it to him.

And, where are you on LI? Have we discussed this before?

for what it's worth, i use 8 oz bottles for dd everyday, and she's ebf.  when she used to only drink 5 or 6 oz at a time, though, i thought they were a waste and couldn't imagine using the whole bottle.  (starting around 6 months, i started giving her bottles of breastmilk and gradually phased out my boobs because she was much more satisfied with a bottle)

J is FF and has never taken 9 oz. We still use the 8 oz bottles though because the smaller ones leak if you fill them too full.

DS is FF and he only takes 6oz at a time. Some babies can just take more than others.

JJ is ff and he have never taken more than 5oz. he is not a small baby but he wont eat more than that.  We use the 8oz bottles because we use the drop ins and powder formula so we have to use the bigger bottle.

At one point, DS was taking 8 oz. bottles at times. I was wondering whether it would be bad to start offering him 9 or 10 ounces (our bottles hold up to 10). It just seemed like so much. Then we started solids, and he's back to 5-7 oz. per bottle.

Very interesting! I guess every baby's different! Clare has one bottle of BM a day (her bedtime baba with daddy) and when I'm away from her from time to time, but the most she's ever taken is 5 oz. I bet if we did bottles all the time, even with BM, she would take more. I have a feeling though that all of our 9-oz bottles will soon be returned.

I don't know if we've discussed yet, lol! I'm in East Meadow now, but will soon be in the Manhasset area. DH and I are from the east end though, Riverhead area. How about you?
