Babies: 6 - 9 Months

::insert Scooby Doo "huh" here::

So I usually have to wrap A up in a blanket for his naps and he sleeps in his Woombie. I half wrapped him, and he popped his arms out immediately. I thought, "eh, I'll let him play for a minute if he wants," and I walked out of his room. He makes a few noises and then I realized I hadn't heard him again. I walked in and he's out. Strange! I'll take it though, the sooner he can sleep without assistance, the better!

Is it common for LO's sleep needs to change so quickly?

  • I can only hope so....we really need to ditch the sleep suit.

  • We stopped the sleep suit in the middle of a growth spurt since he was up every 2 hours nursing anyway; just recently discovered that if I give him a lightweight blanket (a+a bamboo swaddle) he likes to rub it on his face while he falls asleep.  Nighttime sleeping is still crap, but he takes longer & better naps with it.

    This is us too. Isy previously needed to be rocked to sleep constantly. Now half the time (not 100% but we're getting there!) just needs to be laid down with her blanket and she shifts until she's comfy and is out like a light. It's awesome and saves so much time during the day!

    I love that I don't have to put him to sleep anymore- 9 times out of 10 he falls asleep on his own with his blanket & seahorse.  It's so freeing!
