Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Stop calling me! NBR

I had to create an AE to post this.

About 6 months after my SIL had her baby she decided to quit her job and be a SAHM. She had a very stable career and made the money for her family. I can definately understand wanting to stay home, I am a SAHM. Her husband doesn't make that much, but she insisted that they would be ok after my IL's asked her if it was a good idea. I didn't judge her for that, I judged her for the fact that she also bought a brand new lexus SUV after she quit her job. She is the type that thinks staus is more important than anything.

At the end of last year she called my H to see if his company would give her a part time position. That was the first indication that she was hurting for money. He told her they were not hiring part time. So in January we find out she started a "business" doing home parties for adult novelties.

Apparently that is not working out for her since I'm getting calls all fvcking day from creditors looking for her. I have told them over and over that she does not live here. There are at least 5 different ones that call constantly. We told her about this and all she said was "oh sh!t, i will pay them."

Guess what?! if you can't pay your bills maybe you should trade in your lexus for something you can afford and get a real job! I'm so tired of the phone calls.

Re: Stop calling me! NBR

  • I know how you feel. My SIL is the same way. We were constantly getting phone calls from collectors for her, they have finally quit calling. It gets so annoying, and it will probably start back up because she is pregnant with her second and due in July.

  • Were you or your H a reference for her car loan or some other loan? If so, they can call you to get updated contact info for her. If you've given them that info, they have no reason or legal right to keep calling. Also, they should not be telling you any information about the debt, or even that they are trying to collect on a debt. That would be a violation of federal law.

You can tell them that they have to stop harassing you. You can also get their info and send a cease and desist letter.
