Weird teething sounds and behavior?

DS is only 14 weeks old tomorrow and my mom and FIL think he's teething.  DH is just hoping he isn't possessed lol.

He sticks his tongue out all the way and makes an "ahhhhhhhhhhhh" sound really loud.  Sometimes it sounds like the beginning of a cry, sometimes it's a gritty "ahhhhhh" sound.

He chews on his bottle nipples more than usual even though we know he must be hungry.

I did feel his gums and I felt 2 small bumps on the bottom but they weren't right in the front which I thought was were teeth grow first.  I've never felt inside a baby's mouth before so I don't even know if what I'm feeling is some other normal structure or if they are actual teeth starting to grow up under the gums.

Any insight?  Especially about this "aahhhhh" thing??

Re: Weird teething sounds and behavior?

  • I couldn't tell you if he's teething (I'm having a hard time figuring that out on my boy myself) but my LO went through a funny noise period. It was like he suddenly realized he had a voice, and that he could make it do weird things. There were lots of "ahhhs" and "wawawas" and "oohhwaaahheeeoooo." Not sure if this is what your guy is doing, but I think it's pretty normal even if it's not teething (and pretty cute too!).
