Bend at the waist!!!

I am going to be carrying Rider around until the day he finally starts walking! He will not sit!! Whenever I try to get him to bend at the waist to sit down he just freaks out and screams at me. I can sometimes trick him while we are playing and he gets distracted, but otherwise it's laying, standing, or carrying.

He also has decided he despises his jumperoo...and his bumbo...and his high chair. So pretty much he is ok on his back on the playmat (briefly) or in my arms. Anybody elses LO not letting them put them down? What do you do to get a break? My back is killing me! I'd love for him to be able to sit and play but if he refuses to try, it's looking a little hopeless until the day he starts walking!
