I have only dyed my hair once this pregnancy, right after my first trimester I had my highlights and base touched up, nothing touched my scalp. However, I now have a huge patch of gray on the left side of my head (embarassing since I am only 28!! I will just blame that on bed rest too). My question is, have you had your whole head done? Did your doctor have anything to say about it?
Re: If you dye your hair
I did it in my 2nd tri, my doctor said it's not a problem at all.
This is what my hairdresser recently told me. I had been holding out because of the possible risks, but hadn't even thought about how the pregnancy hormones could effect how the color ended up. But it's only a couple more months. Can't imagine if I spent all that money on color and it turned out weird.
I dyed my hair (after the first trimester) throughout my frist pregnancy. I'm a natural dark blonde but I like how I look better with a redish brown hair.
I have dyed my hair during this pregnancy as well. I just try to keep it away from my roots as much as possible. (since I dye my own hair) But if you go to the salon and tell them your pregnant and you want to keep the dye away from your roots and scalp they will be more then happy to oblige.
Neither of the OBs I have been too were overly concerned about hair dye...as long as you waited until after the first trimester.

this!
I had a few grey hairs pop up here and there. And I needed those suckers taken care of!
Ditto. I think it's one of those things that people over-think when it's really not a big deal.
