Right now we are set on Claire Elisabeth but I am not sure it's too "plain" of a name. Do you think it's too plain? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
It's a fine name. A little boring? Perhaps. But it will wear well.
Is either name a family name? If so, I say leave it be. If you love it and it has family significance, you've hit the jackpot.
If it's just two names you like, then yes, it is a bit bland. Not that that's the worst thing in the world ? it's a pretty name, just not spicy.
ETA: What is your ethnic background? DH's? Any interesting family names? Break out the family tree and see if there's a great-grandma Aurelia or Francesca on there.
I like Delaney and Felicity - but I bet they won't fly with DH.
Neither name is of family significance. We both just have agreed, easily on this name. My husband is irish and I am a mix mutt: polish, czech/slovak, hungarian, and a pinch of pretty much everything.
At least it's nice, and I agree it will wear with her through the years.
I LOVE Claire and Elizabeth, but this combo seems to be very popular...probably because Claire as a first name doesn't sound great with very many names.
I think that it isn't plain if you have a unique last name - if your last name is Smith or something like that, then her name is going to be pretty plain.

I LOVE this name!! Claire is one of my all time favorite girl names:) Unfortunately, does not flow with our ln at all. Elizabeth has always been my top pick for a mn, but recently been looking at if for a fn & Elizabeth Claire is my current favorite!! Others names I like are Annie, Annelise & Ruby. GL, I say go for it!!
My husband and I have been dead-set on the name Claire for a girl for a while now and the middle name will be Marleen which is for both of my grandma's, Margaret and Kathleen. Have you thought of trying to do something like that where you combine a couple of family names?

Claire Elisabeth is nice. I wouldn't consider it too plain, but it is not particularly unique.
