Can someone please help

I know I've asked before, but I still can's get a picture in my signature.  I use this code: <img src*="URL for picture"> And where the * is I put in the copy of the image location. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.  I would love to have an updated photo and participate in the siggy challenges. (I did FINALLY figure out how to change my avatar  , or I should say I finally had time to upload photos to the Bump & then change it). TIA

The way I put a picture into my siggy is I upload the image to photobucket and then I just copy the appropriate code into the siggy area.  Photobucket gives you the codes automatically.

I'm not sure if this will help, but this is how I added a pic to my siggy.

 

I go to TinyPic and upload the picture.  Then copy the image URL from there.  

Go to MyBump at top left corner, create profile, edit avatar and sig, scroll down and paste URL in the My Forums Signature box.
