DH Vent - I can't believe he did this!

I am soooo mad at my husband!  I came home from work today, and since my H gets to make his own work schedule, it was his day to watch L.  He was SUPPOSED to do some yard work and clean the kitchen.  INSTEAD, he decided to neglect his chores and CUT MY SON'S HAIR!  (and yes I am using all caps because I am just that mad!)  L did have some super fine and fluffy mad scientist hair going on, but now thanks to my H it is all buzzed.  H had been wanting me to cut it for a while, but I thought L looked super cute with his fluffy head.  Well it doesn't matter what I thought or felt, because now all my baby boy's hair is gone

And after I got over being irate, I thought silently to myself that it was a teeny, itty, bitty bit cute.  H shaves his own head all the time, because he is starting to get a receding hair line, and having a shaved head makes him feel tough, I guess.  I walk into the living room and H and L have the same hair cut, and H had dressed L in n outfit that looked just like his own.  Apparently, my H is trying to turn L into his little partner in crime.

I would have been a little upset I think- probably more so that I missed it. But it is just hair and it will grow back quickly!

I understand your being upset, but I have to admit.... I kind of did the same thing myself! My sons fluff hair drove me crazy so after weeks of talking about it I just went ahead and did it while my DH was at work. But it's so cute and he had to admit it was afterwards too!

This.  I don't think I would be as mad as you are but I do think that he should have called so you could at least discuss it.  I know I wouldn't do anything like that without discussing it first (I am using the word discussing for a reason).  I will say this and don't flame me but I don't like it when people say "my" child.  I think it's more common with mom's than dads and sometimes I think mom's think they are the only ones that can make decisions when it comes to the child and they have to be consulted for every little thing.  He wasn't harmed, it will grow back.

Ya, it's starting to grow on me now.  I'll have to take some pictures of L with his new haircut, he looks like such a little boy.

Oh!  And I don't think I expressed myself clearly enough with just text.  My post was supposed to have a joking tone to it, and after I re-read it, it sounded really b!tch-y, and I didn't want it to come off like that.

After I posted this, I re-read it and realized that I didn't express myself properly.  (see my above post)

And I do know what you mean about the "my child" thing.  I don't say that around my H, just around other people when I am talking about my son/DS/Lex.

I don't know, if my dh did this I would be furious! No discussion about it at all seems ridiculous. I must really love my son's hair or something!

The only part I'd be upset about is missing being there for the first hair cut, and taking before and after pictures etc.  Did you or DH save any hair clippings?
