Lo was 2 weeks late. They were pressuring me for an induction because they were worried I was going to have big baby. She was born at 41 weeks 6 days and weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 18in long. I'm glad I waited until she was ready to come. I wonder how much she would have weighed if they would have induced me at 40 weeks.
I was seeing two OB's my regular one and a high risk one who didn't deliver anymore and just did ultrasounds. She would foward ultrasound info to my regular OB.
The high risk OB said at 32 weeks she was already about 7lbs and that she was going to be big, while my regular OB said that he wasn't worried about her size....
I had 10.8 lb baby..thankfully when I wasn't progressing I chose to have a c-section!
I was measuring very large the last two weeks... so they did an extra ultrasound at 37weeks, and estimated him at 9lbs 5oz. My water broke at 38weeks and ended up with a C section- he was 9lbs 7oz. They were dead on!
The doctor told me that I would probably be having a pretty small baby...9 pounds of baby came out of me! That's not a pretty small baby to me. Thank goodness I chose a c-section a few weeks before I had him!
My doc estimated 13lbs and my son was 12.6lbs, via c-section but of course. hes evened himself out now, but he went straight to 3-6 month clothes. They didn't even have diapers at the hospital that fit. He was the largest baby ever delivered at that hospital. Sidenote, I am a type 1 diabetic, so we anticipated a big one, even with well controlled sugars.
