Question re: Baby shower and possible hostess?

When I found out I was pregnant, a good friend of mine asked if she could throw me a baby shower - at the time, I was so overwhelmed, I was just like "Of COURSE! thanks!!!  but it's so far away."

It's *still* far away, but she hasn't spoken about it in a long time. She used to talk about it a lot. My question is, once it does get closer to planning stages, do I bring it up to her, or just see if she brings it up?

If you're that close with her, bring it up. The worst she can say is no. Then you can throw it yourself and a family member can do it for you. My friends keep bringing it up to me now too, but I'm only 12 weeks. They know I'm finding out the sex so I told them no buying clothes until we know what it is.

I think I'll end up planning both of my baby showers, mainly cuz I'm a control freak.

OP, just ask your friend, "Have you looked into shower dates yet?  I want to be able to block that day" or "Oops, I forgot.  Did I give you the addresses of the people I want to invite?"
