Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Bailey and Paisley

Just read your FFFC's and I'm totally right there with you.  Let's brainstorm about how to get out of the funk!

Re: Bailey and Paisley

I read the FFFC too and I also feel the same way. I think the crappy weather here has something to do with it.

I think you're totally right, at least for me.  Oh and how cute is your new picture!

  • I'd like to have a mom-friend to take walks with.  I live a block away from a great park, and I'm kind of jealous when I pass women walking in pairs with strollers.

This exactly. I'm up for some brainstorming!

Right there with you.  I have friends with babies but none that stay home.  I think about joining moms groups but so many of them meet early in the morning and DD sleeps until 9:30/10, and I'm not about to mess that up :)

    ETA: And I'm shy.  Yep.

  • Not ignoring you! One-handed from the iPad. I agree that some consistently warm weather would help immensely. I accept that the sleep thing is unlikely to improve until the kid weans. Thinking about demanding that the spouse make it home early once or twice a week so I can go to yoga or take a photography class.
  • Oops, C just woke up.  I'll think about this some more and come back when it's time for her afternoon nap.

  • CaraM- I'm shy too! It's really hard for me, especially with new people, but I have to try really really hard because I'm trying to start my own photography business! I wish there was a mommy group around here, I get so bored at home sometimes!

Guess I have the funk too!

That's a great idea! I would like to demand that but now DH is taking a new job and there's no way that's happening. He doesn't get home until 6:30 most of the time, which sucks.

That's so awesome!  I'm jealous :)   All I got right now is that I have to start studying for an enormous exam that I need to pass to "upgrade" my license (I have a Master's in Social Work).  I SO would rather be doing something fun like you!

Ugh, that doesn't sound like any fun at all! Taking the photos is always fun, but this whole 'business' side of it is kinda sucking right now. There are so many ways to go about things it's hard to figure out which way will work best for me.

    Oh hello friends.

I wish we all lived close so we could get out and do things together because I like you guys more than the moms I've met in my area.

    /bump hump.

    Me three.

Maybe I'll post an ad on craigslist.  After all, that's how my H and I met (he posted a joke Hudsucker Proxy-themed ad), so I know it works!

I live five minutes from the art museum.  Would it be weird/rude to take a baby to an art museum?  In the Ergo, maybe?

This is us too. And all my mom friends (that I met on here) work. I just feel like I don't have anything in common with anyone either. I am not a good friend maker.

  • What a sorry lot we are. ;)

You know I adore a good humping, Beccs. Thanks.

I, uh, fourth on the sh!tty-at-friend-makingness. That's why I adore the Internet. Unfortunately, the Internet will not come watch my kid for a couple of hours while I volunteer or garden or complain about how much my privileged life sucks (feel really goofy complaining today when people are facing job loss with the shutdown). I did, however, find a town "moms & tots" group flyer while I was at the library today. Now to work up the nerve to write an e-mail. Surely one of the moms must have a twisted sense of humor, right?
