I want to start buying up all of the cute swimsuits for my 7 months old for the beach this summer, and I'm wondering what type of swimsuit is best. The 2-piece suits are so cute, but will they be falling off? The 1-piece suits seem more practical...unless she poops and has to be changed and I have to take off the entire sandy suit. Thoughts?
Re: Biki or 1-piece?
We've always bought 2 pieces for dd just because it's easier to change her diaper in a 2 piece.
i'm buying a one-piece! less skin to have to worry about protecting :-)

I have a son, so swim trunks, rash guard and a hat it will be for him.
I don't know how I feel about bikinis on baby girls. I'm not a prude or anything, but I just think from a sun protection factor (as Sookie said) and a being a bit conservative with your infant (you just don't know who's out there), I would go for a one-piece for a baby.
From a purely convenience standpoint, two-pieces make diaper changes much easier. I have no problem with two pieces as long as the top is tank-style as opposed to triangle-top.

I tried to order a rash guard + swim skirt yesterday on Zulily and had zero luck. Sadness.
That's my ideal, though. Two pieces make diaper changes way easier, but her belly will be covered either by a rash guard or a tankini.
I agree with this. As of right now we have 2 one piece suits for her, but I've got my eyes peeled for a tankini too.

I completely agree with this.
C has a mix of both. I have heard diaper changes are better in a 2 piece as well.
I got her a 2-piece rash guard set from Old Navy. I wanted the 2 piece for convenience of diaper changes, and the rash guard acutally protects more skin than a one piece. This is what I got:

Thanks for the link! I hadn't started looking, but this is adorable.
