I was thinking I'd take 2 bags--1 diaper bag with baby stuff and 1 weekender bag with my stuff. I'm not really sure everything I should be taking though.
For those of you packed or those of you with lists made, what are you taking to the hospital?
We really haven't started thinking about this (however we should). I am thinking three bags, one for me, one for DH and one for LO.... Maybe combine my and LOs together or DH and I together. DH is allowed to sleep in my room with me and take showers, so he will have a weekend bag too.

I don't have a list made yet, but I do remember that most of it I didn't use last time! Still it's nice to have the option of some things whether you use them or not.
I wanted to share my MUST have from last time...jolly ranchers! (Or some other hard candy you like.) I know some hospitals offer popsicles while in labor, mine doesn't and the only option was ice chips but they did allow a few hard candies! I swear that little bit of sugar helped me get through the looooooong labor that I had on basically a totally empty stomach.
I brought a robe I used a lot, but didn't wear the nightgown I brought since things are a bit messy and I didn't want to ruin it (just used the hospital gown under the robe).
A pillow from home was nice and of course a toothbrush for both me and DH was a must. I'm bringing clothes for the baby to come home in, a hat or two for her, and a baby blanket. (The hospital has most everything you need for the babe...and you pay for it whether you use it or not.) Clothes for DH and clothes for you to come home in.
Definitely not a complete list, but hope that helps.

The L&D nurse who taught our childbirth class recommended 2 bags for mom: one for labor, one for when you move to recovery. That way you can make sure nothing too nice gets brought into L&D where things get messy

I have to start working on this. We just took our birth class and the nurse recommended we take two bags. One for Labor and Delivery and one for postpartum. Our hospital moves you to your mom and baby room about an hour after you have the baby. She said most stuff you won't need in L&D so just pack it in a seperate bag and leave it in the car. That way your not keeping track of all kinds of stuff during your move.
My list (and bag) are kind of big, but that's because I very well may have to have a c-section, if I can't do a VBAC, so I'll be staying in the hospital for 3-4 days, instead of just a couple...And we're not bothering with a Daddy bag, really... our house is less than 15 minutes away, and my husband hates packing things back and forth. He'll probably go home to shower/change and stuff like that as he needs/wants to.
Mommy Bag
a few sports bras
pack of "whatever" panties (I don't like the hospital ones, either... just going to buy some especially for this.)
2 pairs of yoga capris (I hate hospital gowns)
a few tank tops
Non-skid socks
robe (in case I'm cold/want something more comfy)
1 pillow
going home outfit
toiletries: hair brush, hair ties, travel shampoo/conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, chapstick and mascara. (I'm addicted to mascara. lol)
After pre-registering with the hospital, I got a great packet in the mail, describing what all the hospital provides (as well as other info like guest accommodations, visiting hours, recovery procedures, insurance pre-authorizations, etc.) with both Emily (5 years ago) and this baby (just last week my packet came in the mail)... I don't have to bring much so my list is much shorter than most of yours. Hospital provides all toiletries (including toothbrush & hairbrush) and the disposable underwear didn't bother me a bit. Also, I'll be sent home with everything in my recovery room including diapers, wipes, swaddling blankets, hospital shirt and hat so, no need for us to pack a diaper bag full of items.
Hospital bag list:
Robe & slippers
Nursing bras & pads (my milk came in early with Emily), Boppy, Lanolin, Nursing cover-up, and my own pillow
Maternity yoga pants, tank top, flip flops to wear home (you'll still look/feel about 5-6months pregnant and could be very swollen from the IV fluids so, maternity clothing and roomy shoes are best for going home)
Make-up and hair products
Camera, Kindle, IPhone and all chargers (for entertainment as well as updating the family & visitors)
Notepad and pens to document L&D and baby's first few days
Change of clothes for DH
Car seat, stroller blanket
(2) side-snap shirts with mitten covers (at our hospital, baby will only wear a t-shirt and diaper and will be swaddled for easy diaper-changing and umbillical cord care while in the hospital and I am bringing the shirts I loved using with Emily)
Going home outfit, hat, pacifier
P.S. It could be helpful for you all to check your hospital's website for provisions so you don't under/overpack and are just aware of the process. I know it was extremely helpful for me to know.
