I watched a lot of t.v. My husband and I watched 5 seasons of 24 in the months after I had ds3. I'm already on the lookout for something to watch this summer, lol.
When I BFed at night, the only thing that would keep me awake and alert enough to not fall asleep was to watch TV. We kept DS in a bassinet in our room for 5 months so I BFed while propped in bed and I would have fallen asleep if not for TV. It's what kept me sane. I started watching 30 Rock on demand and loved it )
When he was older and in his own room I would BF in the glider and play on my iphone.

Haha we've already discussed watching Sopranos all the way through this summer while we're both home. We zoomed through Entourage & Dexter that way without even being off work, so I'm sure it won't take long!

Yep. I borrowed all of the seasons of "Six Feet Under" from the library after DD was born. Getting our Netflix wireless set up in the near future in preparation for the long days and nights ahead. At night I would fall asleep while nursing too.
I clicked on "sleep," but I needed to be able to pick more than one thing! Sometimes I slept, sometimes played on my phone, sometimes watched tv, sometimes read lighweight paperback books that I could hold with one hand (I still prefer real books to reading them on my phone).
Excellent question. BFing is boring. At least it was for me. "They" never tell you that. Hours upon hours of just staring at the wall trying not to think about the nipple pain. I played on my iPhone, bumping and playing games.
In the beginning I really had to be positioned just right so I needed to be in the glider (in LO's room) with the breast friend and the foot stool all set up. So since I was in the nursery with no tv available and I didn't have an iphone then, I read a lot of baby books (because I of course needed to know everything I could about LO's stage...just the kind of nutty lady I am) and some magazines. I eventually got some music from the radio going (since it was 30-40 mins each feeding) or DH would come and talk to me. As LO and I got better at it then I could nurse anywhere and I ended up all over the house!
Re: 2nd time moms...BFing clicky (hopefully)

i did a little of all of the above, except being on the computer. i had a cs so sitting on the couch was the best place for me to nurse
but damn if those hormones aren't strong enough to knock you the hell out!!
I didn't answer the poll but:
In the middle of the night I used a portable DVD player and watched "Weeds."
During the day I would watch t.v. or once I got the hang of things play online.
