Cruising the zulily site today, this was listed in infant boys clothing:

IMO, That is WAY too ruffly and smocked to put on a little boy! Do you think someone just decided since it was blue it belonged in boys, or did the company actually design this thinking it would be a boys outfit?
Between this and the Babysteals tie chair thing, I'm Judgy McJudgerson today.
Re: Okay, that is not a boy's outfit
I bet it's meant for a boy. I have a FB friend who dresses her son (now 2ish) in things like this all the time, and I always wonder if they're actually boy clothes. Things like this look decidedly feminine to me.
So, I will judge right along with you.

I agree, but I bet they sell them... to parents of boys. I was in a Kinkos once when a women came in with a baby wearing a pink flowered onesie. The baby was still at that age that all babies look the same so you have to gauge gender on the clothing queues, so I said "she's so cute" (because the baby was really cute). Then the mother chewed me out about how the baby was a boy and I shouldn't be so close minded to assume that just because he wears pink flowers that he's a girl.
I wanted to be like... but there's no other indicators at that age? How COULD I tell? The only options left would be to call the baby "it" or just not speak to people at all.
That reminds me of the episode of The Office where a mom had her son in pink and then got mad when someone called him a girl.
My sister's little boy was mistaken for a girl all the time, even though she never put him in anything girly. He just had these long lashes and delicate features, he was so sweet. My sister actually cried over it, which I thought was silly but it was probably just hormones. lol
I wish it was like the olden days when all babies wore frilly bonnets and gowns until they were toddlers. It certainly would make diaper changes easier!
Also, personally, I don't understand why babies need to wear gendered clothing. Unless you're going to be like the lady in Kinkos and get bent out of shape if people can't guess the sex of your baby. Ridiculous!
