Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Thanks Insurance Man

So the ILs have decided to buy DH and I life insurance.  Why life insurance and not a 1000 other things?  I don't know why, they're so weird.  We're just going with the flow here.

Anyway, so the insurance man calls us to get our information, medical history, etc.

Insurance man:  What's your weight?

Me:  7000 pounds (not really)

Insurance man:  7000 pounds?!?!

Me:  Yes. (thanks for making me feel like crap)  I had a baby and I haven't lost the weight yet.  And before that I had a miscarriage (so I ate my feelings) and I'm still up about 60 pounds all together.

Insurance man:  Oh, okay, that's better.

WTF?  Seriously?!  I almost hung up on him.  I feel like his responses were completely uncalled for.  Thanks insurance man for making me feel even worse about myself.

Re: Thanks Insurance Man

  • Wow. Seriously? You shouldn't have had to justify your weight to him to begin with. I'd call back and complain.

That's exactly how I feel.  Like, why the he1l do you care if I weigh 7000 pounds?  I think I will see what I can do to call and complain.
