I bought DS the Method Squeaky Green bubbly bath and it suuuuuuuucked. I couldn't believe what a waste of money. Is there an EF bubble bath out there that actually makes bubbles and doesn't cost $7 for a tiny container?
I feel you- but I think that stuff that bubbles (and remains bubbly) isn't too EF. Kinda like how a lot of EF "soap" and detergents aren't sudsy...
We have the squeaky green body wash (the stuff that comes w/ the clear light green cap that you can use as a cup to wash their heads with right?) and it smells good, but isn't really bubbly.
TOTALLY agree - we love the body wash (and the smell), but the bath bubbles are completely worthless. To top that off, ours leaked all over the side of the tub when it was sitting up like its supposed to ... so it was a mess.
Don't have any other recs for you, though.
I just got a new wash for E from etsy seller joyfulgirlnatural - I wonder if she makes baby bath bubbles. Definitely worth a convo - her products are great. I got a facewash for me and I've been using it for a few weeks and I LOVE.
Yeah, I know the SLES seems to be what makes the bubbles. Sigh. I still like the Squeaky Green wash with that yummy smell, but I def won't be wasting the money on the bubbly bath again.
I just finished reading Growing Up Green Volume 2 and mostly hated it, but they did have a tip for bubble bath: use California Baby Bubble Bath and a half cup of apply cider vinegar. Imus claims (and claims is the right word methinks for most of the book) that this will make a thick foamy bath with fabulous bubbles that can reach 2 feet high.

By any chance, have you tried Dr. B's? It seems pretty foamy when I use it as a body wash. I wonder how it would do as a bubble bath.
A word of caution, though, as I'm pretty sure it isn't "tear free."
