I have a new appreciation of shopping online (vent)

So I went to a Joann's Fabrics to fabric shop because I had a coupon. I picked up this one roll a fabric and realized it was shedding really bad so I decided against it. I then looked at my black sweater and I had fabric fuzz all over me. It somehow ended up all over my face and in my mouth and I was extremely uncomfortable.

Anyway, I found three fabrics I wanted to get, went to the counter for the lady to cut them and she told me to take them on the other side of the counter after I had set them down. I've worked in customer service from the time I started working and I was appalled that she asked me to do that when she was standing there doing absolutely nothing.

When you shop online you can be in the comfort of your own home and do whatever the hell you want and not have to worry about biznatch people. I now see why you ladies fabric shop on the web. I also love seeing the three most magical words that someone was mentioning here the other day "Out for Delivery".

Joann's Fabrics has become infamous. They have such poor customer service. I much prefer michael's.

I'm too nervous buying fabric online. What if my monitor's colors are screwy?

Then again, the betch that helped me at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago nearly scared me straight to the computer.

I always get the angry old lady cutting my fabric at the fabric store.  I would be in heaven if I could cut fabric every day for a job!

The last time I went there on a Monday I waitd 20 minutes to get my fabric cut and the opted to follow the slight diagonal pattern v.s. a straight cut.  I don't know how it happened, but I got the wonkiest cut of fabric yet.

When I went in I had a cloth diaper with me to kinda see what fabrics would look cute and one lady was like " they poop in that? please don't touch our fabric with it' but the rest of them were like wow that is totally awesome! They took it apart and looked and thought it was so cool. ( for the record it was a brand new diaper lol)

I just prefer shopping online in general, which is totally unlike me because i've always been an instant gratification kind of person.  Buy the car on the lot, the computer that's in stock, etc...  But since I've become a PT SAHM, it's so exciting to get packages in the mail...fluff especially but anything for LO is fun and I don't have to get dressed, get a diaper bag ready, struggle with the carseat or any of that crap!  I love using my swagbucks to get stuff off amazon just for the fun of it.

I'd just like to add that Joann's pretty much sucks in general... even online.  I was ordering two pieces of coordinating fabric for a project and used a 50% off coupon code which was valid toward the purchase of one item only.

Fast forward TWO WEEKS...  I get a shipment notice that they are out of stock on the fabric I used the code for.  They sent me the piece that was in stock, but charged me full price.  I called their customer service department and told them I didn't need the one piece if the other wasn't avaliable, and I certainly didn't need it at FULL PRICE!  The wouldn't do anything for me.  I will never shop there again.

This exactly! I've always liked the item in my hand after I purchased it, but being a SAHM now it is so much fun to get packages in the mail! Like PP said, I am still scared of purchasing fabric online because of the colors, but I wonder if the return policy is pretty good for online fabric stores.
