Can I boil Thirsties AIOs?

I just bought some used off DS and they smell really strong like laundry soap (the lady said she washed them in Country Save and Tide). I did a couple hot washes without detergent and there were definitely suds in the machine the first time so I did it again. They've been drying in the dryer for a while and I just took one out and took a deep smell and I might be crazy but I think I smell a hint of a moldy smell. If I boil them do you think boiling will damage the pul and/or the snaps? I just want to be sure I kill anything that might be living in the dipes so ds. TIA! This is the first time I've needed to do this so any help is greatly appreciated!!!

  • I don't think that I'd boil PUL.

  • Ditto teacher2b- I don't think I'd boil AIO's- maybe I would add some boiling water to the hot wash, and I would soak them in a hot wash w/ oxyclean (overnight) then rinse, rinse, rinse... but I wouldn't outright boil...

maybe try using a 1/4 cup of bleach?

  • Wash them again and sun them dry.  That should help a lot :)  I'm new to this, but that's what I've been doing and I've seen it recommended several times.  After they dry in the sun, toss them in the dryer for 10-15 to fluff them up :)

    HTH!
