NBR: Grand Opening

DH's cousin is having a Grand Opening of a Barber shop next week and I don't know if we should bring him a gift? Do you usually buy a gift for a GO of a shop? Sorry, I've never been to one before, so I have no clue. TIA...

  • If it were you opening up the shop, would you want a gift?  I think you should bring something whimsical that he can add to the shop.  It's the nice/right/polite thing to do. Here are a couple signs I found on Amazon.  They also have a variety of clocks.

Definitely...who wouldn't. I should have rephrased my question. We plan on bringing something, but what, is the question? Your ideas are cute, but I don't know if something like that would fit his motif. I was thinking money, but I thought a gift would be nicer. =/

  • Do you know what his motif is?  If not, can you find out?  What about a gift certificate for marketing, ads in the paper, online, etc. business cards, magnets, water bottles, etc.

I would have posted it in my last reply, but DD started screaming...you know how that goes. lol

It's very modern...granite counter tops, flat screen tv's, leather sofas, etc. So, I'm not sure an old fashioned barber shop sign (which is really cute) would necessarily go with that.

  • No, the old fashioned stuff wont do at all.  Hmmmmmm...... what about greenery?  House plants, etc.?
