MIL threw me my first shower on Saturday and it turned out to be an overall wonderful event. She wasn't very organized about it, got distracted hanging out with her besties and tried to get me to announce when it was time to do things (like eat - which I told her she could do since I wasn't in charge of my shower...) and I was so nervous/excited/anxious about revealing baby's sex that by the end, I was an exhausted mess of emotion! I could barely remember the name of DH's aunt who I've seen many, many times. People were incredibly generous, even ones I'd never actually met, and we actually got a fair amount of clothes despite (supposedly) being team green. The gender reveal was by far the best part, I had wrapped balloons up in a box and had the grandparents open it as the last gift. MIL was disappointed that she's getting a granddaughter but later claimed to be teasing oh well...everyone else was so excited. I was also relieved to find that no one went all out with our Noah's Ark nursery theme since I wasn't wanting a ton of random decor - it worked well as the theme for the shower.
DH's cousin made this adorable blanket. The animals are 3D. The little girl in pink seems REALLY excited about it, lol...
And then his aunt made this cake, which I thought was really impressive (and yummy!)
And then for the gender reveal...
I can't wait for my church shower on the 16th where I'm also revealing the gender and then everyone will know! It's been a lot of fun keeping the secret until now but it's getting harder and harder to not let the "she"'s slip out when I'm talking about her.

Awesome way to do the gender reveal...
We are team green and I was shocked with how much clothing we ended up with. Outside of our swing from my MIL, we got nearly all clothing. DH and I ended up sorting through everything as most of it is boy clothing and then had to have the discussion about would the person that purchased this be offended if we returned it...So some of it will be staying until June. If it is a boy we will keep it and a if LO is a girl we will return it...
