I know. it's kind of making me gun shy.

I found the cutest fabric to make a taggie blanket and was picking out some ribbon.  The employee kind of made me nervous when she asked what I was making, though.  She said I should stick with white ribbon since the colors may bleed.  Have you had any trouble with this?

WTF?  um, no. lady doesn't know wth she's talking about. As long as you don't buy like hand painted ribbon or something you're fine.
