Uner 1 month old - toys?

I feel like i should be doing more with this kid - what do you do to "play"? She really eats, sleeps and poops - is there anything fun I should be doing? I play music, make faces at her, and do a very short few minutes on a tummy mat - she hates it. I do tummy time with ehr on my chest - that she's okay with - anything else??

  • You can sing or read with her. You can also talk to her about anything. The more words she hears the more her brain takes in.

  • We sing to Zach, put him on his tummy mat for a few minutes at a time, put him in his swing and turn the mobile on with different music, talk to him, etc.
  • We look at pictures in books and read books, play on play mat and help her reach out for her toys, sing, take walks and talk to her, show her different toys like the lamaze fire fly, take her hand and touch different things that are soft.
  • He still isn't into too many toys, but tummy time gets better! We went for long walks at that age... and I would read to him every day.
  • I sing, put her in the swing, on the play mat, play with her lamaze doll.
  • i play with toys in front of his face.  he loves his jittery elephant, especially the crinkly ears.  i also narrate pretty much everything i'm doing, which feels kind of stupid at first, but whatever.  he's here, and i like to talk.

i also make up songs for things that we're doing, especially when he's upset, and i read to him.
