Talk to me about the 4mo. wakeful

The last 3 nights DS has been up every 2 hours all night long, sometimes more.  It's like he just can't stay asleep, and then when he wakes up he cries and fusses instead of just going back to sleep like he used to.  I'm about ready to throw in the towel and co-sleep for the time being, which is usually something I'm not really a fan of.  But I'm so exhausted and I feel like it may be the only way either of us gets any sleep.  He was at the dr. yesterday and no signs of teething or ear infection.  Does this sound like the 4mo wakeful?  If so, how long does it usually last?

Re: Talk to me about the 4mo. wakeful

  • Yep, unfortunately :(   DD started about the same age your DS is - went from sttn 12 hours without waking to being up multiple times per night.  I was able to get her back down though fairly quickly with nursing.  For us it lasted until last week, so maybe 2.5-3 weeks total.  Stick it out - it will be over soon!

  • I think we have it here, too. DS has never been a great sleeper but he'd at least do a 5-6 hour stretch most nights. Now we're on week 2 of up every 2-3 hours and mama is TIRED!
