Part what seems to be a billion of my insurance fight

Some of you know, on the 23rd of last month, my car was side swiped by a trailer, with me, my fiance, and Ronan in it, a couple days ago, I got a letter from their insurance company saying their information indicated that we caused damage to the company owner's property and that we were at fault, this seemed a bit odd because they only said "our information" and didn't provide a case number of any sort. Good news is I just downloaded a copy of the police report and printed it, the report's non-committal, the police officer himself didn't deem anyone to be at fault, now all I gotta do is submit all my stuff to my insurance adjuster, wait for them to come take pics of the car, and wait for them to duke it out with the other guy's insurance company. I honestly can't wait until I no longer have to look at the beat to hell front end of the lincoln anymore, and I'm tired of using the loaner carseat we have because we can no longer use our old one because it was in a wreck. I just want all this to get over with so I have one less thing to stress about.

Re: Part what seems to be a billion of my insurance fight

  • Sorry, that sucks.  We had that happen before LO was born but the driver of the other car involved was an illegal immigrant without a drivers license and our insurance STILL had to battle it out with the guy's insurance. (How he could not have  DL and get insured is beyond me).  They ended up saying no fault on us but the other dude's insurance still wouldn't cover it.. at the time we didn't have full coverage and they pretty much gave up the fight.  It was pretty minor damage though.. cosmetic.  Your accident sounds much worse and what a pain to deal with, especially with LO and his 'new' carseat in tow.  You have my sympathy.

  • Ours is mostly cosmetic as well, they raked the entire front left side, beat it up all to shiit, pulled out the edge of our bumper and busted out the left headlight we had JUST replaced, but still, law around our parts is you can't use a car seat after its been in an accident, and repairing a lincoln is EXPENSIVE, even on the older ones >_>
