I was planning on bfing, but nothing comes out, now I don't know how much formula to give her... anybody can help me? Tried looking online and can't find it.
I agree...why do you think that nothing is coming out? And if you want to bf and you are supplementing you need to pump every time your baby eats or you will not build a milk supply.

I opened the brest pump to see and 2 drops off each side, still colostrum. She was still hungry after bfing so had to give formula worried she would dehydrate. Really wanted to bf... still pumping to see if my milk starts.
If she is still hungry leave her on your breast!!! That is how you build your supply in the beginning. let her nurse as much and as long as she wants to. Don't give her formula if you can possibly avoid it. Just keep giving her your boob!!

Keep putting her to breast and/or pumping. Your milk can still come in, quite quickly from nothing to engorged in a matter of a day. Mine did not come until she was 5 days old and I know other women who have taken up to 10 days.
my doctor said to keep giving the pre-milk because its rich in antibodies and fat. Also supplemented 2oz per day....thats all they really need i guess....then when your milk comes in they start to drink way more.....thats what happened to me.....
take breaks though if you are giving her only boob....i let her breastfeed until she didn't want anymore and well that never happened....i ended up breastfeeding for an hour straight.....and my BB's got really sore! My LC lecture me that i needed to breastfeed for about 30 min at a time to give my BB's a rest and avoid soreness! I did and it worked great plus my boobs weren't as sore afterwards!
I am personally BF'ing & Supplementing with formula. ?DS lost more weight than usual at the hospital, so his pedi advised me to nurse 10 -15 minutes on each breast & then offer formula after that. ?I make about 2 ozs & what ever he takes he takes. ?Currently he is bf'ing 20 minutes on my left (longer if I let him) & hates my right breast & Every time he takes almost the full 2 ozs. ?I think the exact amount the baby needs is about 2ozs per feeding as one of the pp's stated. ?I forget where I read that... Call the pedi if you want to be sure. ?Good luck!
