Anyone else with restless legs?

I had it so bad, they were driving me crazy!  I mentioned it to a friend who had it while she was pregnant and she suggested I try a glass of milk and a banana  late in the evening.  Sounded crazy to me, but I tried it and it seems to help!  I try to have them around 8:30 ( I go to bed by 10) and my legs have definitely been better lately!  I figured I would share in case anyone else is dealing with this.

  • Yes- I had it before I got pregnant and it seems slightly worse now.  I probably get it a few nights a week- I hate it!  I'll have to try the banana/milk trick.

  • I get them occasionally and they drive me nuts!  I usually just wiggle my legs and rotate my ankles till they go away but I'll have to try the banana and milk trick!
  • Supposedly a new, unwrapped bar of soap under the sheets at the foot of the bed works.

  • i found that if i didn't drink enough water during the day, it's terrible those nights...

  • Standing on cold tile or concrete for a couple of minutes helps too. I've suffered with RLS off and on since childhood and just discovered this.
  • I got it horribly bad with my other pregnancies. This one only a couple of time but so annoying when it does happen. I have tried all the tricks but nothing seems to help unless I bang on my legs.

  • What does it feel like exactly?

I find that lately I'm having a hard time getting comfortable at night. My legs and feet have this kind of twitchy feeling like I might get a cramp. It isn't painful, just annoying. Is that restless legs?

I was just reading an article about it today. I think it said that 1 in 4 women will have it during pregnancy...

  • I've been getting them too. I'll be fine all day but then the restlessness will come on with a vengeance at nighttime. I find that it's better if I go for a walk in the evening. Massaging my calves also seems to help.

Ditto. I had this before pregnancy and the more active I am during the day (and the more water I drink) the less I have it. I know it is a real thing, but for me, it is brought on by not using my leg muscles. It is like they are telling me to get off my booty and be active. :)
